A
close-up of the opposite side of the main room. This is the other
end of the tunnel covered on the previous page. A crossing in the
back ground for those pesky automobiles.

An
overview shot of this area. Note the pictures on the wall. The
black and white photos were found and bought for a few dollars but they
add volumes to the room. They are vintage train pictures of the
Beaver, Pennsylvania area.

Back
on the main area a MTH engine house and Lionel transfer table will keep
motive power on the move. Keep in mind that most of the layout is 7
feet off the floor.

This
is one amazing trestle. Scratch built. It helps raise the
track from the yard level to the main overhead layout. This is
part of the half helix that loops its way up to the overhead layout.

A
beautiful viaduct helps make the transition from the tunnel to the main
layout area. Gives a real feel for the Pennsylvania RR. A
Lionel Icing station sits just off to the right. Perhaps to supply
ice for the brewery on the other side of the viaduct. Also take note
of the Horne's Painting by Linda Barnicott. Some local flair of the
holiday season.

A
closer look. Details! The same gentleman, I believe, did the
roundhouse.

A
reverse look at the yard area from the stairs. Here we can see more
of the half helix. Quite an effort to get those trains up to the
running level.

And
another look from the other end of the room. It's really starting to
take shape now.

Rob's
Angela Trotta Thomas Collection. It creates a feel for the earlier
days of Toy Trains. Rob's room reflects a real feel of trains in
general. Someday I hope to create the same atmosphere.

Here's
the future of the hobby. Rob's son is already a pro at the
Z4k. The excitement that Robbie shows towards the trains is
encouraging that Rob's trains will be passed along to another generation
of Prattes. It was Rob's dad who showed Rob the way! And it's
been full steam ahead ever since.
